Tony Cragg will receive the European Culture Prize 2026

We are proud to share that Tony Cragg is a recipient of the European Culture Prize 2026.

The prize recognises Cragg's profound, international impact on contemporary sculpture. The European Culture Prize additionally acknowledges the Artist's establishment of Skulpturenpark Waldfrieden in Wuppertal and its influence in shaping the cultural scene of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Since 2012, the European Culture Award has recognised achievements of outstanding significance for European culture. Previous recipients include Gerhard Richter, Vivienne Westwood, Nico Rosberg and Barbara Meier.

The ceremony will take place on 4 September 2026 at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Cragg's prize will be presented by Felix Krämer, Director of the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf.
